Prof. Minu Bajpai is a distinguished leader in the field of Pediatric Surgery, renowned for his extensive contributions to medical education, research, and clinical practice. A Fulbright Scholar at Johns Hopkins University and a Commonwealth Fellow in London, Prof. Bajpai also holds the prestigious Raja Ramanna Fellowship in Science & Technology.

 

His illustrious career includes serving as the Dean of Academics at AIIMS, New Delhi, and as the Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the same institution. Under his leadership, he has driven significant advancements in pediatric surgical techniques and education, being instrumental in the establishment of high standards in medical training.

With over 310 publications in peer-reviewed journals, Prof. Bajpai’s research has had a profound impact on the field, covering innovative surgical techniques such as genital reconstruction, lumboscopy, and umbilicoscopy. He has also made significant contributions to understanding the genetic predisposition of Asian Indian children to renal injury and has conducted pioneering work on molecular markers of early renal injury in congenital uropathies, including vesico-ureteric reflux and posterior urethral valves. Furthermore, he has addressed critical health-related issues faced by transgender individuals through his documentation for the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Recognized for his excellence, Prof. Bajpai has received numerous national awards, including the Dr. Kamla Menon Award in Pediatrics and the Kunti Omprakash Gold Medal. His oratory contributions to various prestigious forums, such as the Asopa-Wakhlu Oration and the M.S. Ramakrishnan Oration, highlight his role as a leading voice in pediatric healthcare.

A prolific author of over 300 scientific publications and 107 book chapters and abstracts, Prof. Bajpai continues to inspire the next generation of medical professionals through his unwavering commitment to excellence in pediatric surgery and medical education. His work not only advances clinical practices but also enhances the overall health and well-being of children across diverse communities.
