Dr. Premlata Varthakavi, a distinguished expert in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. With her Internal Medicine degree completed in 1982 and specialization in Endocrinology in 1994 from the National Board of Examinations.

From 1980 to 2018, she held various esteemed positions, culminating in her role as Emeritus Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology at Topiwala National Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital.

Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her membership with several prestigious professional bodies, including The Association of Physicians of India (API), The Diabetes Association of India (DAI), the Endocrine Society of India (ESI), and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI). Additionally, she serves as a referee for the Journal of the API. Dr. Premlata is also an accomplished researcher, with 105 peer-reviewed publications and 96 abstracts to her name, highlighting her significant contributions to the field of endocrinology and diabetes research.
